Today is a bit more of a rant than a blog post— Buyer Beware.
While there are sufficiently good people in the world who are reaching out to hear and help us, there are an equal (or possible greater) number of rather bland, unattractive, and institutionally-conditioned individuals who exist only to copy and paste policy-driven responses to real and pressing concerns.
Yes, I called them ugly and dumb.
As you may recall, I recently sorted through a pile of FOIA and DOC medical records. 7 months and $140 later, these records proved what I suspected— The DOC took visits away from my son and our family, in a grievous error. If you don’t know the story, read here.
I have politely written, emailed, and called anyone within our State who may be able to understand and right these wrongs. My son has also requested to speak to anyone who will listen, and he wrote to the Ombudsman’s office from within. I started with local, individual facilities and proceeded up the chain toward the governor’s office. I have repeatedly articulated our concerns, with outlines and evidence. I have been professional. I have waited patiently for responses. Still, the months keep going by.
Expediency is a foreign word in these lands.
