I must admit that I have been guilty of doing my best to get out of jury duty. But you have made me think about it differently. Great article. And I'm sure you've heard it from him, but your son must be so proud of you.
I live for the moment we see something in a new way, so you've made my week telling me that anything I wrote did that. I know that I am the oddball in this regard, but once we see behind the curtain- we can't unsee. I suspect my son will look back someday with more awareness of this work because while he's grateful, I don't know if he's proud of his blathering mom yet. 😉
Bridget, I’ve read many of the books mentioned. Will continue down your list of important reads!! . Thank you.
Unfortunately, while serving on a jury, jurors hear approximately 1/5 of the case and the defendant many times is told to not take the stand (often their silence is used against them) - our legal, not justice, system is fraught with injustice.
Another suggested read: “Jesus on Death Row” by Mark Osler.
Thank you for sharing Marty Links book,,,, “Wicked takes the witness stand.” The prosecutor and police officers from Otsego County came to Antrim County where a jury convicted me. I spent 10 years visiting Terry Moore and we remain friends. Please take jury duty very very seriously.
Thank you for providing all these resources! I appreciate your blog and all you share within! ❤️🌻
